American Floral Endowment releases AI chatbot

American Floral Endowment logoThe American Floral Endowment (AFE) has introduced Professor Petal, an AI-powered chatbot designed to connect floral industry members with key resources and information. The tool is now live on the AFE website.

Developed in partnership with technology company nextvert, Professor Petal uses language processing to provide quick answers, direct visitors to research and programs, and offer support outside regular business hours.

“With the launch of Professor Petal, we are continuing our efforts to improve our programs and resources while embracing new technology,” said Debi Chedester, executive director of AFE. “This new tool helps ensure that industry members can quickly connect with the research, programs and educational materials they need to succeed.”

Marcin Malicki, founder of nextvert, said Professor Petal demonstrates how AI can provide value to the floral industry by streamlining access to vital tools and information.

The launch builds on AFE’s collaboration with nextvert, which previously supported the Sustainabloom Program. The chatbot is the latest step in advancing digital tools for the floral and horticulture community.
