BioWorks has appointed Chris Rose as interim general manager as part of a planned leadership transition aimed at expanding sales and strengthening the company’s position in horticulture and greenhouse markets.

The company, founded in 1993, develops biological crop protection and plant health products used in greenhouse, nursery and specialty crop production. Rose succeeds longtime leader Bill Foster, who will remain involved with the company through May to support the transition.

Rose joined BioWorks in 2013 and has held leadership roles in operations, research and development and marketing. The company said his experience across technical and commercial areas will support efforts to expand product adoption among growers.

“This is not a reset. It is an acceleration,” said interim general manager Chris Rose. “Our strategy remains clear. Our responsibility now is to execute it effectively despite market hurdles, competitive pressure and unexpected challenges.”

BioWorks said its next phase will focus on expanding its presence in greenhouse crops while increasing activity in specialty field crops such as grapes, almonds and berries. The company also plans to grow national market coverage in the United States.

The Victor, New York production facility will continue manufacturing biological crop protection products and biostimulants. The company also plans to export Trichoderma production from the site to Brazil and Europe.

BioWorks became part of the BioFirst Group in 2023 and transitioned under the management of BIOTROP in early 2026. Company leadership said the move is intended to support global growth and technology development for biological crop inputs.
