BioWorks introduces GreenSpring mixed-mineral fertilizer for IPM programs
BioWorks introduced GreenSpring, a mixed-mineral fertilizer designed to support early season plant health and improve crop performance.
BioWorks has introduced GreenSpring, a mixed-mineral liquid fertilizer designed to support early season plant establishment and complement integrated pest management (IPM) programs. The product is intended for use during planting and early vegetative growth to provide nutrients during root initiation and early plant development.
GreenSpring contains nitrogen, sulfur, molybdenum and zinc and is designed for field, greenhouse, high tunnel and nursery production systems across ornamental, vegetable and fruit crops. BioWorks said the product supports nutrient use efficiency, root development and crop tolerance to abiotic stress.
The company recommends four to eight applications at seven-day intervals beginning at planting or during early vegetative growth. GreenSpring is designed to perform under conditions that promote active root growth and soil microbial activity, including moist soils and periods of lower heat stress.
“GreenSpring was developed to help growers establish healthier crops from the very beginning of the season,” Chris Rose, general manager, said. “By improving nutrient availability during critical early growth stages, GreenSpring gives growers an important tool to maximize plant performance and support season-long success.”
According to BioWorks, trials at three wine grape locations showed an average yield increase of 11%. In a corn trial, GreenSpring increased yield by 5 bu/A compared with an untreated check. When used with RootShield, yields increased by 10 bu/A over the untreated check.
GreenSpring is designed for integration into existing IPM programs and is intended for use during the early stages of crop development.
