John Henry Company has expanded its BloomIQ.com website to include additional resources for gardeners interested in growing vegetables and fresh herbs.

BloomIQ.com has launched a new series of articles devoted to ideas, care tips, and helpful advice on organic and homegrown ingredients. These new edibles articles introduce each topic with a brief history and overview of the main cultivars with insights into origins, varieties, and flavors. Also included are tips on getting started, garden care, companion plants, and troubleshooting.

“At BloomIQ.com, we’ve seen lots of interest from our gardening community in fresh ingredients they can grow right in their own backyards.” commented Erin Willigan, vice president of marketing for BloomIQ, “Our new edibles series is perfect for gardeners and home cooks alike, providing interesting and useful information all in one place — from garden care and cooking tips to health benefits and fun facts. We’re continually adding new articles to our library, which now includes over 40 features on cut flowers, indoor plants, outdoor gardening, and edibles. “

There are also new herb collections featuring culinary themes such as grilling, marinades, vinaigrettes, and global cuisines. These complement the edibles collections that combine plants that grow well together to improve taste, enhance flavors, or deter pests.

BloomIQ.com edibles articles are available as part of a turnkey marketing program that imprints scannable 2D codes on print and packaging to connect consumers to the website using a smartphone. The program provides graphic design and code creation services; URL management tools; website content; and reporting metrics to garden centers and supermarkets interested in promoting their herb and vegetable selections.
