Concept Plants introduces new varieties for greenhouse and landscape markets
Concept Plants releases new ornamental varieties with traits for greenhouse production and landscape performance. Review key genetics and evaluate crop options.
Concept Plants announced a new lineup of ornamental varieties for 2026, aimed at greenhouse growers and landscape markets seeking performance and adaptability.

The collection includes euphorbia ‘Miner’s Berry Bordeaux’, hydrangea ‘Candybelle Sorbet’, miscanthus ‘Lady in Red’, nepeta ‘Blue Planet’, scirpus ‘Stars and Stripes’ and sorbaria ‘Crimson Feather’. The varieties feature traits such as compact growth habits, disease resistance and tolerance to heat, drought and cold.

These characteristics are relevant for greenhouse production and finishing, where growers prioritize uniformity, input efficiency and post-transplant performance.

Peter van Rijssen, owner of Concept Plants, said the lineup reflects breeding priorities tied to market demand.
“Our 2026 collection reflects the innovation and passion that drive everything we do at Concept Plants,” he said.

Several introductions are positioned for container production and mixed plantings, with liner availability through multiple propagation suppliers. Hardiness ranges from USDA Zone 4 to Zone 7, depending on the variety.

The genetics also target reduced maintenance and improved resilience, which can help growers manage production risks and meet retailer expectations for durable landscape plants.
