Corteva to split seed and crop protection businesses in 2026
Corteva to split seed and crop protection businesses by 2026, creating two focused companies. Stay updated on key changes for growers.
The seed business, which includes the Pioneer brand, will become a new company called “SpinCo.” Chuck Magro, currently CEO of Corteva, will lead SpinCo. The crop protection business will continue under the Corteva name, with Greg Page, current chairman of Corteva, serving as chairman.
The split is expected to allow each company to concentrate on improving products and services for growers. The seed business will focus on crop genetics and yield improvements, while the crop protection company will continue work on pest and disease management, herbicides and other solutions.
“The seed and crop protection markets have evolved, and as a result, we see the opportunities ahead for both companies diverging — this is the right time to act to stay ahead of the market. This separation will allow both businesses to maximize long-term value creation by focusing on their own priorities,” said Corteva CEO Chuck Magro in a press release.
The transition is expected to be complete in the second half of 2026. Further details, including management updates, will be announced in the coming months.
