De Vroomen celebrates 100 years of horticulture
De Vroomen Garden Products marks its centennial in 2025, celebrating a legacy of innovation and growth in the flower bulb and perennial industry. Founded in 1925 by Jacobus Theodorus De Vroomen in the Netherlands, the company has evolved into a leader in importing Dutch bulbs, perennials and seeds.
Notable milestones include expanding operations to the U.S. and Canada in 1961 and moving to advanced, temperature-controlled facilities in Illinois and Kentucky. These developments support De Vroomen’s broad clientele, including landscape contractors, professional growers and retailers.
In April 2024, De Vroomen introduced the “Magnificent Mile” tulip in Chicago, celebrating its floral heritage. Additionally, the company will release commemorative products like the Centennial Tulip Blend Marcy and Centennial Peony in honor of its 100 years.
“We are incredibly proud of the past 100 years and our global team’s achieved success,” said Joris Philippo, head of the company’s Dutch office.
Celebratory events include a Flower Parade appearance in the Netherlands and lighting Niagara Falls in the company’s signature colors. De Vroomen continues to focus on sustainability, innovation and its mission to serve the next generation of horticulturists.
