New initiative aims to inspire future horticulture leaders
Seed Your Future (SYF) has launched a new digital initiative to inspire students to pursue careers in horticulture. The series, “Growing Future Horticulture Leaders,” will feature interviews with prominent professionals in the field and will be available on SYF’s and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s social media platforms from Nov. 4-11.
The series aims to introduce students to various career paths in horticulture, including plant science, technology integration, and conservation. The initiative is designed to make students aware of the opportunities within the green industry.
“We are committed to showing students the real-world impact of careers in horticulture,” said Jazmin Albarran, executive director of SYF. “This series provides a platform for industry voices to inspire the next generation.”
The series will include interviews with leaders from organizations such as Corteva Agriscience, The Morton Arboretum, and Syngenta Flowers. Each interview will give students a glimpse into the day-to-day life of a horticulture professional.
The series will conclude on Nov. 11 with a final post encouraging viewers to explore more about the horticulture industry through SeedYourFuture.org.
