Rancho Tissue expands yucca offerings for growers
Rancho Tissue Technologies has expanded its tissue-cultured yucca lineup to 10 varieties, adding selections for growers and landscapers focused on drought-tolerant crops.

The additions include Yucca rostrata ‘Rancho Blue,’ Yucca rostrata ‘Sapphire Skies’ and Yucca pallida. Each variety was developed through tissue culture to ensure true-to-type coloration, consistent form and disease-free planting stock.
“ We are excited to be offering these unique and colorful yuccas to the industry,” said founder and owner Heather Hunter May.
The lineup offers options suited for both greenhouse growers and landscape applications. Yucca rostrata ‘Rancho Blue’ is noted for its powder-blue foliage and cold hardiness to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. ‘Sapphire Skies’ features slender, blue-gray leaves and produces white flowers on tall spikes in early summer. Yucca pallida, also called pale leaf yucca, grows as a compact rosette and is hardy to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
All three varieties are drought tolerant and adaptable to xeriscape and architectural planting designs, providing growers with new options to meet demand for water-wise crops.
