Resolution reached on sales of speckled petunias
Westhoff and Selecta Klemm have resolved a dispute regarding the sales of Westhoff’s DiscoBall petunias in the U.S., ensuring growers can continue accessing the speckled petunia variety.
The agreement allows Westhoff and its network of licensees to market and sell the DiscoBall series without infringing on legal protections. The series remains available this season in North America through distributors including Vivero International, Plant Source International and Cohen Propagation Nurseries.
“It is good to be reminded that despite rigorous competition, companies can still come to a compromise for the benefit of growers,” said Christian Westhoff of Westflowers Breeding.
Westhoff affirmed its commitment to respecting legal protections for plant innovations, which support the development of new varieties.
