Sollum Technologies has partnered with Optimal to integrate dynamic LED lighting with AI-driven climate and irrigation control, offering greenhouse growers fully automated crop management.

Optimal’s artificial intelligence platform, already used to manage climate and irrigation with minimal manual input, will now interface with Sollum’s SUN as a Service platform. This connection allows the AI to anticipate lighting needs and adjust them in real time based on weather conditions and crop requirements.

“Lighting is one of the most powerful levers in a greenhouse,” said Dave Hunter, CEO and founder of Optimal. “Integrating with Sollum’s dynamic LEDs gives our AI the flexibility to adjust that lever in real time. It’s a natural extension of our platform.”

The system automates the execution of a grower’s strategy across lighting, climate and irrigation, while reducing time spent on manual adjustments. According to Optimal, growers typically spend less than 10 minutes per week managing settings with its platform.

For horticulture and greenhouse operations, this means a more responsive and precise approach to environmental control, potentially increasing crop yield, improving quality and enhancing energy efficiency.

Sollum’s dynamic lighting is designed to adapt to changing conditions, and this partnership enables the lighting system to respond more closely to the needs of crops through AI-based decision making.
