Sustainable climbing poles introduced for houseplants

The Plant Company has introduced Climb-itt, a natural climbing support system for houseplants, as part of the Proven Winners leafjoy product line. Made from potato starch and elephant grass, Climb-itt provides a biodegradable, plastic-free alternative for indoor gardeners.

The product line includes poles, planks, canes, Eco Wire and connectors, allowing growers to support plants as they climb. The poles mimic natural bark textures, encouraging root attachment and healthy plant development. Watering through the pole’s center minimizes evaporation, while lactic acid from potato peels prevents mold.

“Adding Climb-itt to the leafjoy family of products is the first step we’re taking to provide houseplant enthusiasts with resources they need to care for the high-quality leafjoy houseplants they love,” said Jason VanWingerden, co-founder and CEO of The Plant Company.

Climb-itt products are available in stackable designs and are durable indoors but fully biodegradable in landfills. The Plant Company collaborated with the Netherlands-based Kratiste to bring this sustainable innovation to the U.S. and Canada.
