Syngenta Group Leadership Shuffle Takes Effect

The Syngenta Groups’ Head of Vegetable Seeds and Flowers, Matthew Johnston, will report directly to CEO Erik Fyrwald as of July 1 as a part of a leadership shuffle the company rolled out in mid-June.

The leadership changes include the retirement of Jon Parr who’s president of global crop protection at Syngenta Group. Jeff Rowe, currently Syngenta Group’s president, global seeds, will become president, global crop protection; and Justin Wolfe, regional director, North America seeds, will become president, global seeds.

A news release from Syngenta Group referenced Johnston’s “increasing ambitions for Syngenta Group’s Vegetable Seeds and Flowers business” and said his reporting to Fyrwald would “reinforce strategic focus on the business segment.”

Johnston is based in Syngenta Seeds’ Downers Grove, Illinois, location, according to LinkedIn.

On March 25, Syngenta Flowers announced the appointment of Emily Mason as its global head of marketing. She joined the company in May and is based in Downers Grove.

Syngenta Group, registered in Shanghai, China and with its management headquarters in Switzerland, includes four business units – Syngenta Crop Protection headquartered in Switzerland, Syngenta Seeds headquartered in the United States, ADAMA headquartered in Israel, and Syngenta Group China.
