Growcentia, Fort Collins, Colo., offers MAMMOTH P™, the first organically derived, OMRI-certified microbial inoculant specifically designed to unlock P and micronutrients to maximize bud growth. Beneficial bacteria act like micro bioreactors, continually producing enzymes that release nutrients. Increased levels of P keep internodes shorter and focus energy on bud production.

MAMMOTH P™ is a liquid formula of beneficial bacterial that is synergistic with all fertilizers and other additives – and is compatible across all growth media, including soil, soil-less, and recirculating hydroponic systems.

MAMMOTH P™ was developed by two of Growcentia’s cofounders at Colorado State University using its patent-pending, next-generation microbial trait-selection platform, with the screening of millions of soil microbes from across the country to identify those that most effectively facilitated plant P uptake. The consortium of bacteria in MAMMOTH P™ are 30X more effective at mobilizing P for plant uptake than any microbial community surveyed in natural and agricultural soils across the United States.

MAMMOTH P™ is differentiated from other products in several ways.  MAMMOTH P™ was engineered to supplement any fertilizer program. Our high-throughput platform allows us to select soil microorganisms at the community level in hydroponic environments-  which enables these bacteria to work equally well in soil, soilless, and recirculating hydroponic systems. This beneficial bacterial formula runs clean in hydroponic systems and is an excellent way to derive organic benefits (OMRI certified) without sacrificing water quality.

Second, our directed microbial phenotyping platform coupled with cutting-edge high-throughput molecular techniques is highly effective. Our platform allows us to produce very effective multi-species microbial formulations that focus on nutrient cycling processes to release soil P and micronutrients from bound forms, thus improving nutrient availability to plants. ‘
