A Bloomin’ Great ProgramBy Tim Hodson

Does your community participate in the America in Bloom program? Does your company?

If you answered “No” to either of these questions, then I have another question for you, “Why not?”

The mission of America in Bloom is to promote “nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements.”

The AIB program provides communities with a framework for improving the overall quality of life by providing on-site, one-on-one mentoring and coaching by a team of expert judges who provide a detailed, written evaluation.

You already know many of the benefits that your products offer so why not help your community spread the word?

And America in Bloom is a great program for you and your company to get involved in because it allows you the opportunity to showcase your products, your expertise and demonstrate your leadership in the community.

If you want to see what America in Bloom is all about, you can see for yourself at AIB’s annual symposium and awards program next month (Sept. 19-21) in Orlando, Fla. in conjunction with The Landscape Show sponsored by the Florida Nursery Growers & Landscape Association. Additional information about attending this year’s symposium is available by clicking here.

In its 12-year history, approximately 200 cities located in 40 states have participated in AIB. It would be great to see those numbers grow in the coming months!
