AFE opens 2025 educational grant applications for floriculture

The American Floral Endowment is now accepting applications for its 2025-2026 educational grant programs, which aim to support the growth of the floral industry through education-focused funding. The deadline to apply is June 1, 2025.

Among the opportunities is a new addition: the Demaree Family Floriculture Advancement Grant. Beginning its first cycle in 2025, the grant supports special projects or programs addressing critical issues within the floral industry. It prioritizes initiatives with broad industry impact through education, resources or innovation.

AFE also continues to offer its general Educational Grants, which awarded nearly $64,000 during the 2024-2025 cycle to support 19 programs run by organizations, universities and industry groups. These grants are available to community-based organizations across the U.S., with preference given to programs that serve young people and have a national reach.

The Meinders Retail Florist Education Grant is also available and supports nonprofit organizations that provide reduced or free registration to industry events for retail florists. The fund helps ensure retail-focused education remains accessible.

“These grants provide financial assistance to support educational opportunities of all kinds, including national industry conventions, event programs or virtual events,” said executive director Debi Chedester.

All grant requests must be submitted online by the June 1 deadline and are subject to annual review and availability of funds.
