Air Tray Technologies by Blackmore Company has been nominated for a GreenTech Amsterdam 2026 Innovation Award in the GreenTech Impact Award category, which recognizes established products with at least two years on the market and demonstrated sustainability and revenue impact. Air Tray Technologies is one of 37 total submissions.
The Air Tray system combines Air Tray containers, the Air Tray rack system and Plant-It-Friendly retail containers. According to the company, the system can reduce substrate use by up to 50% per plant and eliminate fungicide use through improved airflow and drainage. Manufacturing for Air Tray containers uses up to 85% recycled or postindustrial plastic through an in-house recycling loop.

The company said the system also increases shipping and retail efficiency, allowing up to 60% more plants per truckload and up to 40% more plants per retail display. Paper-based retail containers are fully recyclable and designed to replace non-recyclable containers.
Additional operational claims include 1 to 2 extra production turns per year, faster drying after irrigation and labor savings tied to rack ergonomics and handling efficiency.
GreenTech Amsterdam will take place June 9-11 at RAI Amsterdam. Winners will be announced during the show opening June 9. Air Tray Technologies will exhibit at Stand 05.417, and nominated products will be displayed in the Innovation & Insight area in Hall 5.
