AmericanHort launches AI tool to support growers
AmericanHort has introduced Sage, a new AI-powered assistant aimed at helping members and industry professionals quickly access information across its websites.

Sage is designed to provide accurate responses by pulling from AmericanHort’s internal knowledge base, which includes resources related to events, certification programs, advocacy, membership and research. The tool is positioned to improve efficiency for users seeking information about offerings such as Cultivate’25, the Section Grower Certification and other horticulture-focused programs.
“This is a powerful tool created to help our members and the industry quickly find the resources they need,” said Mary Beth Cowardin, vice president marketing and member engagement for AmericanHort.
Sage differs from consumer-facing AI tools by functioning entirely within a secure environment. It does not access public internet sources, allowing users to confidently use the tool for professional tasks such as drafting job descriptions or marketing copy.
Growers and greenhouse professionals can use Sage to support daily operations, continuing education and business development by navigating AmericanHort’s services more efficiently.
The tool also includes a feedback system. After each interaction, users can rate their experience and offer comments, helping AmericanHort refine the assistant over time.
Sage is now live and available for use on AmericanHort’s websites.
