Baker College launches cannabis career certificate programs

Baker College has launched a new suite of Cannabis Career Certificate programs developed in partnership with Green Flower, expanding online education options for the legal cannabis industry.

The updated certificate programs are designed to align with hiring needs across key sectors of cannabis production, retail and compliance. For horticulture and greenhouse growers, the Cannabis Cultivation Specialist certificate focuses on plant science and production practices across indoor, outdoor and greenhouse environments.

The six online certificate programs include Cannabis Associate, Cannabis Cultivation Specialist, Cannabis Product Development Specialist, Cannabis Retail and Sales Specialist, Cannabis Compliance Specialist and Medical Cannabis Specialist. Program lengths range from eight to 16 weeks, with tuition varying by course.

According to the college, the curriculum was rebuilt to reflect current industry standards and is supported by career development tools through Green Flower’s Cannabis Career Resource Center. Resources include continuing education materials, employer connections and a private professional networking community.

“These new Cannabis Career Certificates are built to match exactly what employers are hiring for each sector of the cannabis industry,” said Max Simon, ceo and founder of Green Flower.

The first cohort begins Jan. 13, 2026, with new start dates offered every eight weeks. Baker College said the programs are intended to support workforce development in emerging industries by providing formal training and recognized credentials.
