Mocha mousse color inspires 2025 plant palette release

Terra Nova Nurseries has unveiled its annual Pantone Color of the Year plant list, featuring varieties inspired by Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. This curated selection highlights plants that reflect the brown hues of mocha mousse through their foliage and flowers.

The list includes four standout varieties tailored to showcase the trending color’s versatility and its influence on garden design. Sedum ‘Mocha Magic,’ for example, matches the 2025 shade with its foliage and blooms, while rodgersia ‘Bronze Peacock’ transitions from bronze to green, echoing the color’s warm tones. Sedum ‘Dark Magic’ and heucherella ‘Brass Lantern’ also made the list.

Chuck Pavlich, director of new product development at Terra Nova Nurseries, said, “The 2025 color speaks to the desire for comfort, simple pleasures and meaningful connections — a theme reflected in Terra Nova’s companion plants.”
