Michigan gardener wins Monrovia Bee a Winner giveaway
A Michigan gardener has won the $500 grand prize in Monrovia’s Bee a Winner giveaway after entering at Begick Nursery in Bay City.
which has served the Bay City, Saginaw and Midland areas for 75 years, has participated in the Bee a Winner program since its launch three years ago. The program aims to promote pollinator-friendly plants and increase awareness among home gardeners and garden centers.
“We participate in the Bee a Winner program because Monrovia’s pollinator-friendly perennials support a healthier, more resilient ecosystem,” said Mark Begick, owner of Begick Nursery. “During the promotion, I highlight these plants on our socials to show clients the diverse options they can use in their own gardens.”
Monrovia designed the program to support independent garden centers in marketing pollinator-attracting plants. Retailers who order a minimum of $2,000 in pollinator-friendly plants receive 10 free plants for use in in-store promotions, along with signage and a QR code linking to the customer entry form.
This year’s campaign also included a national Instagram contest, where customers entered by posting a photo of Monrovia plants or displays at participating garden centers.
Monrovia is planning to continue the program in 2026, with a spring registration deadline of Feb. 27 for Southern states and a summer deadline of March 13.
