P.L. Light Systems has entered a strategic partnership with Dutch Lighting Innovations (DLI), with the companies saying the agreement will support future growth while allowing the Canadian horticultural lighting manufacturer to continue operating independently in North America.

P.L. Light Systems, headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario, said the agreement was completed with company owner Todd Phillips, who will remain president and continue leading North American operations. The company said it will maintain its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Hamilton while continuing to serve customers under the P.L. Light Systems brand.

Founded in 1981, P.L. Light Systems manufactures horticultural lighting systems for the North American market. DLI designs, assembles and sells LED grow lighting systems for professional greenhouse growers in more than 30 countries.

“Our leading market position and reputation for quality and service were key attributes that attracted interest from DLI,” Todd Phillips, president of P.L. Light Systems, said. He said the partnership is expected to support geographic expansion, broaden the company’s product and service offerings, and provide opportunities for future acquisitions.

Pim Van Eijk, chief executive officer of DLI, said the partnership will help P.L. Light Systems expand its reach while continuing to provide products and services to customers in North America.

The companies said P.L. Light Systems will continue operating independently in the North American market under its existing brand.
