Terra Nova introduces new echinacea variety
Terra Nova Nurseries has added a new variety to the echinacea Delightful series specifically for container and pot production. See the growing guidelines for this crop to consider it for your schedule.
Terra Nova Nurseries introduced echinacea ‘Prosecco’, a new addition to its Delightful series developed for container and pot crop production.
The variety features double yellow flowers that mature from lemon to ivory and is suited for mixed beds and borders. It is also pollinator-attractive and deer-resistant.
For greenhouse growers, finishing times are six to eight weeks from liner to a 4-inch pot and 12 to 14 weeks to a 1-gallon container.
Plants reach about 14 inches in height and 16 inches in width, with flowering from June through October. The variety is hardy in USDA Zones 4 to 9.
Terra Nova recommends allowing plants to dry slightly between watering during finishing.
The introduction adds to available echinacea options for growers targeting summer sales windows with compact, container-ready perennials.
