Skanska has signed a $16 million contract with Texas Tech University for major renovations and construction for the Bayer CropScience research facility and greenhouse.

Skanska has signed a $16 million contract with Texas Tech University for major renovations and construction for the Bayer CropScience research facility and greenhouse.

Texas Tech University’s main campus is located on more than 1,800 acres in Lubbock, a city in West Texas. The university currently serves more than 26,000 undergraduate students and offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Skanska’s renovation will focus on the university’s 32,000 square-foot research building and include offices, labs and support spaces for Bayer CropScience research and development activities. Additionally, the project includes construction of a 44,000 square-foot new headhouse building and greenhouse for the Bayer CropScience Trait Development Program.

Construction for the project begins in March 2014 and will be completed in February 2015.
