How Social is Your Business? By Tim Hodson

In recent years, many growers and retailers have dabbled in the waters of “Social Media” with varying degrees of success.

It seems like in our industry, companies have either totally embraced social media and have found their niche with it or they are scared to death of it.

Well, last week GPN regular contributor Dr. Charlie Hall, Texas A&M, let me know about a webinar that is coming up that just might help allay any fears or answer some of the questions you might have pertaining to using social media for your business.

Next week, the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association and the Southern Risk Management Education Center will present a webinar on “Social Media Tips for Green Industry Firms.”

Charlie said in his email, “This webinar will discuss various aspects of social media usage including an overview of current channels utilized and the best processes for generating leads using social media. This webinar will also dispel common misconceptions of social media marketing and provide helpful tips that will serve as the foundation of a successful social media strategy.”

The 30-minute webinar will take place on Monday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. CDT and you need to register to participate.
