Retailers Stock Up On Spring Help By Tim Hodson

It looks like the Home Depot and Lowe’s plan on having a good spring because the two retailers recently announced they will be hiring more than 130,000 employees in the coming weeks.

The Home Depot announced plans to hire 80,000 workers for its busiest season of the year – an increase of 10, 000 over the spring of 2012. The home improvement retailer is optimistic about 2013 as the housing market continues to slowly improve.

Once again, the Home Depot also plans usher in the season with door-buster “Black Friday” sale prices on some of the most popular lawn and garden and oudoor living products.

Meanwhile, Lowe’s said it is looking at hiring nearly 55,000 part-time associates for the spring season. Nearly 10,000 of those positions are expected to eventually be converted into full-time jobs.

Even though it is only February, spring is just around the corner. Are you ready for it? How are the lawn and garden retailers in your region staffing up for the spring season? Does it look like there will be people in the stores to help sell your products?
