How Many Do You Know This Year? By Tim Hodson

In the May issue of GPN we are introducing the Class of 2013 of our 40 Under 40.

This is the second year now that GPN has recognized the horticulture industry’s “next wave!” The movers and shakers of today and tomorrow!

This year’s class, much like the Class of 2012, is quite diverse in their backgrounds and interests. Among the honorees are a former stockbroker, another has his pilot’s license and degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering while another has a degree in English literature. The Class of 2013 has marathon runners, aspiring chefs, furniture builders, home decorators/remodelers, avid readers, hikers, hunters, fishermen and mountain climbers just to name a few. And coffee, chocolate, beer, music, college football and spending time with their children are some of the most popular Off the Clock items for this year’s class.

But as diverse as this year’s class is, they all have one thing in common – they are charting the future of our industry! And you should get to know them.

We have created a special Class of 2013 page on www.gpnmag.com where you can learn more about this year’s honorees. And if you haven’t seen the May issue of GPN yet, click here to read the article.

We also will be recognizing the Class of ’13 at OFA Short Course during a Mix ‘n Mingle session on July 14 that is open to all attendees as well as at an invitation-only reception/ceremony.

Identifying Solutions

Do you have disease issues in your greenhouse? Are looking for answers on how to identify and solve these issues? Then check out GPN’s Ornamental Disease Digest on www.gpnmag.com.

This digital magazine is a collection of monthly columns from A.R. Chase and Margery Daughtrey on plant disease identification and management that have appeared in GPN over the past couple of years.
