Off the Clock: Fernando likes to be competitive and participates in many different sports — baseball, volleyball and soccer. He even played on the defensive line of an American football team.

Relatives in High Places: Fernando’s grandfather was Costa Rica’s Minister of Economy, Industry and Commerce in the late 1970s and started a cut flower business in the early 1980s.
