What 3 to 4 professional and/or personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

• The awesome team I have helped cultivate and train at North Creek in the customer service and sales team. When everyone knows the goal, enjoys what we do and has the customers we serve at top of mind, that makes it an easy team to help lead.
• My participation in and work on North Creek’s ERG Team (Employee Resource Group), a supportive, transparent group that represents all employees to ensure personal and professional development and inclusion at North Creek. I am very excited for the future that the group is working toward to bolster the great culture at North Creek that makes it an awesome place to work.
• I will be getting married this fall to my incredible fiance Molly, and for the house we bought together in 2023.

What led you to work in the horticulture industry?

• I had decided back in winter of 2018 to get out of the unfulfilling corporate recruiting role I was in. I found an operations position at a Garden Center in my area, and that spring quickly grew to love the world of plants. I loved watering and maintaining plants to keep them alive, I loved unloading tractor trailers full of ball and burlap, I loved helping excited plant people plan their gardens and teach them more. I gained what are to be lifelong friendships, quickly forming bonds while working in the soil with like-minded empathetic people. I grew in my role, and that led me to managing the site operations, leading teams and growing in my love for the plants.
• As that experience in retail horticulture drew on, I knew I wanted to be closer to the source of the plants, closer to the heart of what I grew to love. I moved on from that role at the end of 2022 and was so lucky to find North Creek just a couple of months later. Here I have found that those plant people I grew to know existed across the industry. Intelligent, caring, sharing and special. I have learned so much and am honored to be part of a company with such focus on ecology, efficiency and togetherness. This is such a special place to thrive within, and that is due to the hard work of all who came before me to make this company what it is today and the hard work of those who stand alongside me at North Creek.

Describe to a 6-year-old what you do in life?

• I help people get beautiful flowers and plants into the world to be enjoyed by humans and nature alike.

What are your favorite hobbies?

• Playing guitar
• Analyzing film
• Rooting for Philly sports teams

When you’re not working, what are 2 to 3 things we could find you doing?

• Watching movies
• Hanging with my lovely fiance and pups

Do you have any unusual talents, or can you tell us something interesting about yourself that other people may be surprised to find out?

• I enjoy painting portraits of animals, specifically my and my friends/family’s cats and dogs.

One thing you can’t live without?

• My dogs

What are you (un)secretly good at?

• I have the entire three-film dialogue of Lord of the Rings memorized.

What are your top three bucket list items?

• Own 5 dogs at once (3/5 of the way there)
• See a Phillies World Series win in person
• Visit New Zealand

What’s your favorite plant variety and why?

• Polmonium reptans, native to the eastern U.S., is a beautiful flowering groundcover with a unique habit of the foliage.
