Do you know a college student planning a career in floriculture who deserves a little recognition?

Applications and information regarding the 2008-2009 Shinoda Memorial Scholarship for college students interested in a career in floriculture and related fields are now available online at www.shinodascholarship.org.

To be considered for these prestigious awards, students must complete and return the Shinoda scholarship applications by March 30, 2008. The Joseph Shinoda Memorial Scholarship Foundation will announce the winners later this spring.

The foundation, formed under the auspices of the California State Florists’ Association in 1964, has selected recipients for its scholarships and grants for more than 40 years. Winners of the scholarships, named in honor of a highly regarded pioneer of California’s floral industry, have gone on to become leaders in the field.

For more information about the foundation or about its scholarship program, visit www.shinodascholarship.org or call (805) 544-0717.
