Industry Partners Team Up to Fight Breast CancerSource: Proven Winners

On Feb. 28, the second day of the Yard, Garden and Patio Show in Portland, Ore., Proven Winners and Bauman Farms will give away a free ‘Flirtation Pink’ diascia, a new Proven Winners variety for Spring 2009, to the first 1,000 attendees of the show to raise money to help stop breast cancer.

“Proven Winners’ generous support has allowed Bauman’s Farm and Garden an opportunity to put a beautiful plant and a constant reminder of the impact of breast cancer in the hands of 1,000 people,” said Brian Bauman, owner and manager of Bauman Farms. “We realize that one plant is a small reminder, but by doing the little things, we all can make a big difference.”

Each plant will feature a tag that says, “Plant this in hope and memory of those affected by breast cancer” and invites attendees to Bauman’s booth (867). Bauman’s will donate 5 percent of all product sold during the show to the Linda L. Vladyka Breast Wellness Foundation. This donation will fund monthly self-breast exam training throughout the coming year.
