HRI Accepting Research Applications for 2013Source: The Horticultural Research Institute

The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) is accepting research applications for its FY2013 competitive research grants program. All applications must be submitted online by May 15, 2012.

HRI strives to fund research that benefits green industry related issues. HRI supported projects focus on: significant problems, regulatory issues or emerging opportunities in the nursery and landscape industry, encourage environmentally responsible management practices, increase nursery crop producers’ business or financial expertise, and expand the market for plant material.

HRI is committed to support annual research efforts focused on the highest priority needs of the green industry. HRI strongly encourages collaborative research efforts and challenges scientists to focus research on attainable outcomes that show a return on investment for the green industry.

HRI has also has five scholarships available to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in horticulture. Applications must be completed online and are due May 31.
