The Michigan Floriculture Growers Council (MFGC) recently announced that the Michigan House of Representatives has adopted House Resolution 263 to designate, June 9, 2012, as Michigan Flower Planting Day.

The resolution was adopted in the House on May 15. It was offered through Representative Holly Hughes, along with Daley, Barnett, Darany, Denby, Geiss, Heise, Knollenberg, LeBlanc, Rogers, Slavens, Talabi and Tyler.

The Growers Council is the statewide organization in support of the Michigan floriculture industry.

The Council encourages Michigan floriculture retailers and growers to publicize this resolution, in advertising or posting, to promote flower sales and planting and thus encourage sustained bedding plant sales in June.
