The Association of Speciality Cut Flower Growers (ASCGF) has scheduled two meetings for the fall: From Seed to Sale and the ASCFG Growers’ Business School.

From Seed to Sale is all about plants and will take place Oct. 2-8, 2013, at the OSU Secrest Arboretum and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio. Attendees can follow each speaker as he or she discusses the processes used to produce a flower crop, starting with variety selection and scheduling, through planting, growing-on, pest and weed control, harvest, postharvest handling procedures, and all the way to marketing, pricing and design.

The ASCFG Growers’ Business School is slated for Nov. 3-4, 2013, at the URI Coastal Institute Bay Campus in Narragansett, R.I., and the Robin Hollow Farm in Saunderstown, R.I. The event includes numerous speakers and a tour of the farm.
