Calibrachoa

MiniFamous Double calibrachoas now feature a newly expanded color range. This early-to-flower, semi-trailing, medium-vigor series is ideal for quart, gallon, basket and mixed container programs.

Maintain media pH at 5.4 to 5.8. Fertilize with 200- to 250-ppm nitrogen. Start with low concentrations after roots show and increase with plant development to the recommended levels.

In general, avoid drying out or overwatering the substrate as this will affect plant quality and finishing time. Root system will suffer when conditions change from one extreme to the other.

Maintain day temperature at 70 to 75° F and night temperature at 55 to 60° F. The use of “cool morning” treatments will improve plant quality, flower and foliage color, and plant habit, and harden the plants.

Crop time is seven to eight weeks for one plant per 4- to 5-inch pot, seven to 11 weeks for one to two plants per 6-inch pot or gallon, and nine to 12 weeks for four to five plants per 10- to 12-inch tub or basket.
