‘Tis the Season By Tim Hodson

It’s kind of hard to believe that December is already here – but it is!

I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend with your families, plenty of turkey and maybe even a little football.

After you cleared the table, washed the dishes and enjoyed some pumpkin pie, were you one of the millions of Americans who braved the cold and the crowds in search of holiday bargains? According to the National Retail Federation, more than 141 million shoppers were out and about taking advantage of Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday deals. That’s an increase of more than 2 million over last Thanksgiving. And they spent $57.4 billion.

And Thursday and Friday are just the beginning. In case you haven’t heard, today is Cyber Monday. Today is expected to be the biggest online shopping day of all time.According to another National Retail Federation survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics over the weekend, more than 131 million shoppers plan to go online today, up from the 129 million who participated last year.
