To-may-tos, To- mah-tos — For a Good Cause: One of Brie’s hobbies is growing more than 100 heirloom tomato varieties that she trials for heat and humidity tolerance, productivity and nematode resistance. “We throw a fundraiser every summer, The Tomato Tasting, to share the bounty with our community and raise money for the JCRA Children’s Gardening Program.”

Call Her the #CrazyGrainLady: Brie is obsessed with growing “unusual” edibles in suburban foodscapes and goes to great lengths to harvest and process crops such as cane sorghum and grains like wheat and rice.
