Pesticide Recertification Credits Available at Northeast Greenhouse Conference

Attendees at the Northeast Greenhouse Conference and Expo will have an opportunity to earn pesticide recertification credits during the conference’s technical program.

 A total of 12 hours of presentations (credits will vary by state) will be offered for the six New England states plus New York and Pennsylvania.

The Northeast Greenhouse Conference and Expo will meet Nov. 7 and 8, in Boxborough, Massachusetts.

Some of the presentations are will be concurrently or are presented in Spanish.

Licensed pesticide applicators from New England states will be able to earn up to six credit hours on the first day and up to six credit hours on the second day of the conference. Licensed applicators from New York will be able to earn up to 4.5 credit hours on the first day and up to 4.5 credit hours on the second day of the conference.

On Nov. 7, the program will include:

  • Diseases Caused by Bacteria and Viruses in the Greenhouse-Beware! Margery Daughtrey, Cornell University
  • Diseases Caused by Fungi in The Greenhouse – Watch Out!  Cheryl Smith, University of New Hampshire
  • Identificaion y Monitoreo de Plagas, Ana Legrand, University of Connecticut (Espacio limitado, require preinscripción)
  • ID of Key Insects and Mites, Suzanne Wainwright-Evans, Buglady Consulting
  • Making the Most of Biopesticides in Your Crop Production System, Michael Brownbridge, Vineland Research and Innovation Center
  • Apicación de Agroquimicos,  Javier E. Lopes, Altman Plants ( Espacio limitado, require preinscripción)

On Nov. 8, the program includes:

  • Big Bo and the Mildews Say “Resist!”, Margery Daughtrey, Cornell University
  • Insecticide and Miticide Resistance: Basic and Advanced Principles, Richard S. Cowles, The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station
  • Evaluating Biological Control Recommendations, Suzanne Wainwright-Evans, Buglady Consulting
  • Next Generation Biological Control – Coming Soon to a Greenhouse Near You?  Michael Brownbridge, Vineland Research and Innovation Center
  • Biocontrol in Perennials for Indoor and Outdoor Production, Roger McGaughey, Pioneer Gardens, Inc.
  • Successfully implementing BCAs in a pest management program, Ronald Valentin, Head Technical Support – North America, Bioline AgroSciences
