Prepare for Impact
Are you planning on attending AmericanHort’s Impact Washington Summit later this month in Washington, D.C.?
If you are, be prepared to rub elbows with some major insiders of our industry, including the United States Secretary of Agriculture.
Last week, AmericanHort announced that Sonny Perdue will be a keynote speaker for the 2019 Impact Washington Summit.
“Secretary Perdue is a steadfast champion of agriculture community both in the President’s cabinet and on the world stage,” said Craig Regelbrugge, AmericanHort Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Research. “His tireless advocacy for horticulture and his depth of knowledge make his presence a fantastic addition to this year’s already exciting Impact Washington Summit.”
Taking place Sept. 16-18, in Washington, D.C., the summit will unite leaders across the green industry to hear from dynamic speakers about the issues facing the industry along with educating Congress on our challenges and priorities.
Additional speakers include: Andrew Wheeler, Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Daniel Garza, President, The LIBRE Initiative, Laurie Flanagan, Chair of the H-2B Workforce Coalition, on behalf of AmericanHort; and Lynn Jacquez, Managing Partner, CJ Lake, LLC.
Legislative and regulatory priorities at the Impact Washington Summit will center around workforce and transportation issues, research funding and implementation, and business and marketplace regulation.
These issues are of critical importance to horticultural businesses across the nation.
