Sakata Seed Debuts New Website

Sakata Seed recently relaunched  www.SakataOrnamentals.com, just in time for California Spring Trials (CAST) 2022.

The company recently reimagined its trade-focused website; enhancing design, functionality and user experience.

“As COVID restrictions begin to lift, we are eager to get our industry partners and friends back to our Salinas greenhouses and facility for CAST. The past couple of years have been a true testament to the innovation and industry-leading genetics Sakata has historically introduced. In fact, we’ve been awarded not one, but two AAS Gold Medals in the past two years; a feat not previously met for 17 years prior to our 2021 winner – Profusion Red Yellow Bicolor zinnia. We then immediately followed the win with a 2022 AAS Gold Medal Winner, Viking Explorer Rose on Green, which is pretty unheard of,” said Joe Cimino, director of Sakata’s Ornamental and Solutions Business Groups.

The website allows for easy navigation of new varieties, tried and true favorites and convenient grower resources like culture guides, product brochures, and catalogs.

“At Sakata, we pride ourselves on our ability to breed exceptional genetics that perform through the entire supply chain and look outstanding in the consumer’s garden and landscape. Recently, we’ve been hyper-focused on our digital presence to create easy access to resources that showcase these products, our fabulous network of seed distributors, and our corporate dedication to sustainability and social responsibility. We believe that www.SakataOrnamentals.com is a wholistic look at our company culture, commitment, and passion for innovative flowers and the betterment of the world through our service to earth and people,” adds Alicia Suits, senior marketing manager.

As CAST 2022 rapidly approaches, expect to see a convergence of in-person events and digital promotion from Sakata. “As we quickly learned from the COVID pandemic, an optimized online presence allows us to reach a larger audience when in-person events are not possible… and even when they are,” continues Suits. “We want everyone to experience and learn about our exciting new genetics, regardless of if they’re able to attend an event in person.”

Users can also subscribe to Sakata Ornamentals on YouTube, to stay up to date on video content from CAST 2022.
