ACIR-NCAE Lobby Day To Take Place This WeekSource: SAF

The Senate is scheduled to take up the issue of immigration reform during the last two weeks of May, and it is important to let lawmakers know it is vital to the green industry that comprehensive immigration reform is passed this year. The Society of American Florists (SAF) is encouraging all members to participate in a lobby day sponsored by the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform (ACIR) and the National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE).

This event will take place on Capitol Hill this Wednesday. Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Larry Craig (R-Idaho) have both endorsed this event in a letter to agriculture industry leaders. “This is a timely opportunity for growers and producers who are living in the nightmare of the broken status quo to tell their story to lawmakers who ultimately must act if we are to resolve the labor crisis,” the letter said.
