Green Career Week returns to inspire students

Seed Your Future has announced the return of Green Career Week, set for March 3-7, 2025. The initiative connects students with careers in horticulture and related fields.

With growing environmental challenges, the demand for skilled professionals in green industries is increasing. Green Career Week introduces students to career paths in landscaping, plant science, sustainable agriculture and urban forestry.

“Horticulture lies at the intersection of science, art and sustainability,” said Jazmin Albarran, executive director of Seed Your Future. “Through Green Career Week, we aim to spark curiosity and passion in young people.”

Businesses, organizations and schools will host hands-on demonstrations, facility tours and mentoring sessions. Since its launch in 2022, the program has engaged more than 15,000 students and connected them with over 500 companies.

Educators can host discussions and field trips, while industry professionals can offer demonstrations or mentorship. Students are encouraged to participate in activities and explore career options. Seed Your Future provides free resources, including lesson plans and career guides, to support participation.
