HGTV Home Plant Collection is launching Essential Perennials and Shady Showoffs this summer, which were developed in conjunction with Agricola Management Group, the exclusive licensee for the Plant Collection. The line of Essential Perennials addresses the demand for plant varieties that offer sustainability year after year. HGTV and Agricola selected the varieties for their hardiness, color, growth habits and appeal to today’s home gardeners. The new perennial varieties include achillea, agapanthus, agastache, brunnera, coreopsis, dianthus, dicentra, echinacea, erysimum, euphorbia, festuca, gaura, helenium, hellebores, heuchera, heucherella, kniphofia, lavandula, leucanthemum, nepeta, penstemon, perovskia, phlox, salvia, scabiosa, sedum, stachys and veronica. Many of the varieties feature multiple color options. Essential Perennials are available in a 2.5 quart, true gallon and a trade 2 gallon. The company’s first shade collection, Shady Showoffs, features plant varieties that thrive in shady and sun-dappled areas of the yard and garden. HGTV and Agricola say they selected the varieties for beauty, hardiness, complementary colors and shade performance. The new mixes include Copper Gold with Unstoppable Upright Fire Begonia in bright orange, Main Street Wall Street Coleus in burgundy, Bright Ideas Black Ipomoea and Goldilocks Lysimachia in light green. Lush Gold components include Arcada Yellow Begonia, Main Street Broadway Coleus in dark burgundy with yellow, Bright Ideas Lime Ipomoea and Stardust White Flash Euphorbia. Shady Showoffs are available in gallon size containers and upright containers as well as quart sized individual components.
