HilverdaFlorist transfers dianthus program to Raker-Roberta’s

HilverdaFlorist has signed a licensing agreement with Raker-Roberta’s Young Plants to take over its complete Dianthus program from Aris-Green Leaf Plants, following Aris Horticulture’s sale of its greenhouse and real estate assets.

The transition will take place over the next six months and ensures continued production and sales of dianthus cuttings for the North American market. Raker-Roberta’s, based in Litchfield, Michigan, will manage propagation and distribution of varieties such as Sunflor, Beauties, Odessa, Specialties and Kahori.

Current availability of HilverdaFlorist’s potted dianthus through Aris-Green Leaf will remain in place, with existing orders fulfilled until week 40 of 2025. Beginning May 2025, Raker-Roberta’s will take over supply of remaining 2025 material under the new agreement.

The partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two family-owned companies. Raker-Roberta’s already propagates several HilverdaFlorist Pot, Patio and Garden series — including garden gerbera Garvinea and echinacea MOOODZ — at its Litchfield facilities.

“Raker-Roberta’s Young Plants is excited to partner with HilverdaFlorist to ensure a robust and reliable supply of dianthus for the U.S. market,” said Susie Raker, vice-president of Raker-Roberta’s Young Plants.

The move provides greenhouse growers and brokers across North America with ongoing access to rooted and unrooted Dianthus liners, supported by Raker-Roberta’s distribution network.

HilverdaFlorist is headquartered in the Netherlands and specializes in the breeding and propagation of ornamental plants.
