Seed Your Future survey needs your input
The latest survey from Seed Your Future about internships is now available for your input.
Internships play a critical role in preparing students for success while helping employers discover future talent. To expand these opportunities, Seed Your Future and North Carolina State University have partnered to encourage more students to complete internships and assist employers in offering them. Together, they have developed five tailored surveys, each aimed at different groups: current students, alumni, faculty/staff, department administrators, and employers.
John Dole, study co-coordinator, emphasizes, “There is a limit to how much education and training we can provide in the college or university setting. Internships not only allow students to put their knowledge to use, but also help them cultivate important professional skills.”
Melinda Knuth, study co-coordinator, adds, “Internships bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice, helping students gain practical experiences that make them more competitive in the job market.”
Jazmin Albarran, Executive Director of Seed Your Future, underscores the significance of internships in the green-collar workforce: “Internships allow students to get critical hands-on training and be job-ready when they graduate. This project will help us do that and help employers find the help they need in setting up or running their internship programs.”
The feedback gathered from these surveys will be instrumental in developing the following resources:
- Best Practices Guide for Creating and Managing Horticultural Internships (for employers)
- Best Practices Guide for Faculty and Departments to Manage Horticultural Internship Programs
- Hints and Guidelines for Landing the Dream Horticultural Internship (for students)
