Last week, Syngenta announced it plans to divest its premium Flowers business from its Lawn and Garden operating unit.

Last week, Syngenta announced it plans to divest its premium Flowers business from its Lawn and Garden operating unit.

“Syngenta has built a high quality profitable Flowers business based on seeds and vegetative genetics and efficient distribution platforms,” the company said in the press release announcing the divestment plans. “Syngenta Flowers is a market leader in mass market plants and has developed innovative solutions for seasoned and hobby gardeners alike. The business has a competitive footprint in both developed and emerging markets.”

The press release also said Syngenta plans to continue to invest in its chemistry for the professional products markets such as industrial pest management and golf courses.

No further details of the proposed divestment have been released.
