Before You Know It … By Tim Hodson

As February winds down and March gets ready to enter like a lamb or a lion (we’ll know this time next week), Team GPN has turned its sights on 2013 California Spring Trials.

We booked our appointments weeks ago and bought our plane tickets, made our hotel and car rental reservations and are ready to hit the road!

In case you didn’t know, this year Spring Trials is one day shorter than last year – it will take place April 6-11. Even though it is still a little more than a month away, there is no time like the present to start planning your trip.

If you are headed to California for the big event, have you visited www.CaliforniaSpringTrials lately? There have been quite a few changes since 2012 Spring Trials with many of the players changing locations this year.

On www.CaliforniaSpringTrials.com, you can find out who will be where and when they will be there. You can also find a digital edition of GPN’s 2013 California Spring Trials Companion. Of course, during the week of Spring Trials, we will be blogging about our journey and posting photos of some the things we see along the way. Be sure to follow us. We will also be Tweeting and posting updates on the www.CaliforniaSpringTrials.com Facebook page.

If you plan on heading to Spring Trials this year and you haven’t made your appointments yet, did you know that OFA has created a centralized reservation system for you to make those appointments? It is simple to use and there is no fee for the service. Be sure to check it out.

I also heard from Mark Bridgen at Cornell University over the weekend about the trip he and some fellow educators have organized to 2013 Spring Trials. He told me they still have five seats available on their bus, so if you would like to join that group, you better act fast.

I hope to see you in California in April.
