What 3 to 4 professional and/or personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

• Starting as a highschooler knowing nothing about plants and working up to production manager still not knowing everything about plants but ready to learn something new every day
• Training and empowering the people under me including some newly hired growers
• Increasing efficiency in many processes allows us to reduce hours worked

What led you to work in the horticulture industry?

• Honestly, my mom told me to get a job in high school, and Plantpeddler was hiring. Then I went to college but came back to Plantpeddler because I was drawn back to the plants.

What’s the best thing about your job? (Please select one)

• I get to do what I love, every day

Describe to a 6-year-old what you do in life?

• I get to play with flowers.

What are your favorite hobbies?

• Being outdoors
• Riding UTV
• Spending time with my family

When you’re not working, what are 2 to 3 things we could find you doing?

• Spending time with my kids outdoors 
• Shed hunting and mushroom hunting in the spring
• Enjoying a good campfire during the summer

Do you have any unusual talents, or can you tell us something interesting about yourself that other people may be surprised to find out?

• I absolutely love designing painted poinsettia patterns and recipes.
• I got a multiliner named after me when I broke my arm during spring pulling and the blues and purples of the combo matched my bruises.

One thing you can’t live without?

• The family, kids and pets

What are you (un)secretly good at?

• I am good and fast at sticking young plants.

What are your top three bucket list items?

• Raise healthy, well-adjusted children 
• I want to travel after retirement 
• I want a summer home

What’s your favorite plant variety and why?

• My favorite variety is Nikki’s Folly because it is named for me.
