New Perennial Plant Web Site from Cornell UniversitySource: Cornell University

Cornell University has recently developed a new Web site with photos and growth characteristics of more than 150 herbaceous perennial plants. The database is fully searchable by plant name (common or scientific), height, bloom time, color and many more plant characteristics. There are many photographs of each plant, illustrating flower, leaf and overall plant form. Plants in the database are a mixture of tried and true commercial perennials, as well as a number of plants lesser known in the trade.

The site was developed by Allison Mayer, a MPS student, and Bill Miller of the Department of Horticulture at Cornell University. The site is hosted by Dan Lineberger, a Cornell alumnus and webmaster of Texas Aggie Horticulture. While electronically residing in Texas, the plants and all information presented in the site is based on observations in Ithaca, N.Y. (central New York State, USDA winter hardiness Zone 5).
