Registration For ANLA’s Garden Center University OpensSource: ANLA

Registration has begun for the next class of the American Nursery & Landscape Association’s (ANLA) Garden Center University (GCU). The 2-year course, led by Ian Baldwin of Nursery Business Consultants, is likened to a “mini-MBA” for garden center owners and managers seeking to grow their businesses.

The class of 2010 begins Feb. 7-8, 2008, in conjunction with the ANLA Management Clinic. The course is designed to improve the profit and market positions of both small and large garden centers.

The class, comprised of 60 students, will meet in different locations throughout the United States, learning from the instructor and each other in interactive sessions. They will also visit garden centers along the way. The program spans five semesters and is linked throughout by core threads of learning, such as Fiscal Know How, Human Resources, Sales and Merchandising, and Profit Management.

To register, visit www.anla.org/events or contact Colleen Beirne at (202) 741-4857 or via E-mail at cbeirne@anla.org.
